Honoring Our Heroes: Pavion Celebrates Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, we pause to honor the extraordinary men and women who have served in the Armed Forces, including those within the Pavion community Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication embody the values that define who we are: integrity, service, and commitment to protecting others.

At Pavion, we are proud to employ and support veterans across every part of our organization. We are equally proud of the family members who have served, carried the weight of deployments, and demonstrated resilience through the challenges of military life.

Below, we highlight some of the incredible individuals and stories that remind us why this day matters.

Scottie Spurlin, General Manager

“This photo is of my daughter Candace and me at my retirement ceremony from the Air Force in 2008. Candace passed away earlier this year from a fatal accident, and her memory lives on with me each and every day.
As a military dependent, Candace endured countless moves, missed holidays, birthdays, and the uncertainty that comes with deployments. I am endlessly proud of her for all she gave, all she endured, and what she became as a strong and independent woman. I am so fortunate to have been part of her life and proud to be her dad.”

David “Bubba” James, Direct and Inside Sales

“I come from three generations of military veterans.

My grandfather served in World War II in the Army Air Corps with a bombing group based out of England as the navigator and bombardier on a B-17 bomber named Piccadilly Lilly II. He retired as a Major after 41 years of service.
My father followed his example, serving in the Vietnam War as a cryptologist in the Air Force, stationed in Texas, England, Italy, and California, before retiring after 35 years of service.
Following in their footsteps, my brother and I both joined the Marine Corps. I worked in Aviation Supply and am now medically retired, while my brother served as a Logistics Specialist. We come from a long line of proud Americans who have served faithfully in the Army Air Corps, Air Force, and Marine Corps.”
